Airport ceo game no suitable runway found
If you spray (as the picture shows) with the bridge pulled up, if anything is frozen around the door, you cannot spray it as it’s all covered. While de-icing at the gate can be useful or save time, it can cause a lack of certain surfaces to get sprayed correctly, or at all. How so, you ask? At MANY airports, vehicles can NOT drive UNDER the jetbridge… There’s other equipment around, and you’re trying to spray a whole plane (from a safe distance) while dodging everything else around you. If you’re not boarding, you run the risk of needing to clean it up. If the plane is being sprayed during boarding (which has happened before), you run the risk of someone getting burned by the fluids if the canopy is not all the way down, it puddles in the canopy, it can drip and run near the doors etc. The fluid on the ramp can become VERY slick and unsafe for rampers. I understand the WANT for de-icing at the gate, but a fair bit of airports are steering away from this for multiple reasons.
Pads are a fair bit more organized and useful. So much fun!Īs someone who has worked at an airport, I’ll put my perspective in. Otherwise, I love what you guys are doing in this game. It be nice to have the flexibility where trucks will do it on their own without a required pad, but certain plane/weather conditions won’t allow trucks, they planes will find a de-icing stand. When the plane is too large for trucks to do safely and efficiently in a timely fashion, a pad situation is going to be most efficient (but shouldn’t require trucks to work) yet the small and medium aircraft can usually be serviced by the trucks… I would think this is how airports with the De-Icing pads actually operate anyway. Less risk for aircraft damage from moving vehicles, no need for trucks to be filled up, underground infrastructure that supports the de-icing materials.
It looks like the pic aboveĭi-Icing Pads - Like the game has, places where planes go to be serviced - bring the masses to us mentality. They do have a small place where they’ll sometimes push the planes back to in order to open up their gate for another plane, but there’s no de-icing infrastructure. Mobile Services - where the snow can be intense, but it’s not persistent, there are no de-icing pads, only trucks. There’s a huge difference in infrastructure for de-icing operations depending on geography. I was just about to post this very topic actually.
